Dr. Anil Kakodkar is one of India’s foremost nuclear scientists and a former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India. Padmu Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar
Dr. Vijay Bhatkar is celebrated as the architect of India’s first supercomputer, PARAM, developed under C-DAC. His contributions broke international technological barriers, placing India among global tech leaders in high-performance computing. He has authored several books on science and spirituality and served in pivotal academic roles, including Chancellor of Nalanda University and Chairman of IIT Delhi. His initiatives in e-governance and education have empowered millions. Dr. Bhatkar continues to mentor innovators and scientists across the nation.


Padma Bhushan Dr. Ashwin Mehta
Dr. Ashwin Mehta is a legendary figure in Indian medicine, credited as one of the pioneers of interventional cardiology in the country. With over four decades of service, he has performed thousands of lifesaving procedures and mentored scores of cardiologists across India. Honoured with the Padma Shri, Dr. Mehta’s contributions extend beyond clinical excellence to shaping cardiology education and practices in India. His compassionate patient care and deep knowledge have earned him immense respect in the medical fraternity.
Padma Shri Rahibai Soma Popere
Rahibai Popere is a self-taught tribal farmer who has conserved over 50 indigenous seed varieties through traditional farming wisdom. She established a self-run 'Seed Bank' and trains hundreds of women farmers in organic, sustainable agriculture. Her work has helped revive biodiversity, preserve climate-resilient crops, and empower rural women. Recognized by the UN and global ecological institutions, she is a living example of grassroots innovation and ecological stewardship.


Padma Shri Popatrao Babuji Pawar
Popatrao Pawar is the sarpanch who revolutionized Hiware Bazar, a once drought-stricken village in Maharashtra, transforming it into a model of sustainable rural development. Under his leadership, the village adopted watershed development, banned alcohol, implemented family planning, and achieved 100% literacy. His model of participatory governance and community-driven change has been studied nationwide and internationally. His leadership has directly influenced policy-makers and inspired thousands of villages to adopt sustainable practices. He is currently a key advisor on various rural development initiatives by the Government of India.

Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni, Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, is a visionary academician driving transformational reforms in higher education. With decades of experience in research and institutional leadership, he has championed innovation, digitalization, and academic excellence across Maharashtra’s largest university. His initiatives in curriculum modernization, industry-academia linkages, and student empowerment have strengthened Mumbai University's global standing. Hanuman Baburao Kendre
Hanumant Kendre is a visionary grassroots leader whose relentless efforts in water conservation transformed his drought-ridden village into a self-reliant, water-abundant model for rural India. Through community mobilization, traditional water harvesting techniques, and sustainable watershed management, he reversed decades of water scarcity and migration. His pioneering work became the inspiration for the National Award-winning film Paani, which highlights the power of community-driven environmental change. Baburao Kendre continues to work as a beacon of hope for water-stressed regions and is celebrated as a true Jalnayak (water hero) of Maharashtra.

Shishir Kumar Bajaj, Chairman & Managing Director of the Bajaj Group, is a pioneering industrialist and philanthropist whose leadership spans across diverse sectors including sugar, energy, and real estate. With a deep commitment to sustainability, he has steered Bajaj Hindusthan Ltd. toward renewable energy and green practices. His philanthropic initiatives under the Bajaj Foundation focus on rural development, healthcare, and education. His integrated water resource management programs have empowered thousands of farmers.

Dr. Varsha Deshpande is a lawyer, activist, and the founder of Lek Ladki Abhiyan, an organization working against sex-selective abortions. She has been instrumental in exposing illegal sonography centers through undercover operations and has brought landmark legal cases to justice. Her work has led to stronger implementation of the PCPNDT Act in Maharashtra and inspired reforms across India. Dr. Deshpande is also a vocal advocate for gender equality, women’s health, and social justice through legal empowerment.
